After School Sidewalk Programs

Extreme After-School Programs

Extreme Family Outreach  is an intensive community based 501C(3) after school sidewalk program for elementary and middle school aged youth. It sets itself apart by delivering a holistic approach to character building, providing interactive communication sessions, arts, music and citizenship teachings.

You will find our Extreme Teams teaching the children how to make wise choices, say "no" to drugs, stay in school, out of gangs and  show them that they are special.  Extreme Family brings vision and hope, currently in the Havre de Grace and Edgewood communities. We are greeted weekly by over 300 young enthusiasts that are ready to grow and learn. Often throughout the week we visit the home and families of those involved in our program.

Our programs provide participants with a multitude of opportunities:

Extreme Family Outreach partners with local neighborhood outreach programs, organizations and companies. This initiative will demonstrate that learning experiences in the arts help youth develop discipline and problem-solving communication skills. Fostering creativity and team building that help to increase self-esteem — all important foundations for success in school, employment, and personal relationships-- producing contributing citizens.

Volunteer Policy

The disturbing traumatic rise of physical and sexual abuse of children has claimed the attention of our nation and society.  The following policies reflect our commitment to provide protective care of all children, youth, and volunteers who participate in the EFO sponsored activities

1)   Adults who have been convicted of either child sexual or physcial abuse should not volunteer service in any EFO sponsored activity or program for children and youth

2)   Adult survivors of childhood sexual or physical abuse need the love and acceptance of this outreach.  Individuals who have such a history should discuss thier desire to work with children with one of the staff prior to engaging in volunteer service.

3)   Adult volunteers should observe the "two adult" rule.  This requires that adults are never alone with children without an adult partner.

4)   Adult volunteers should immediately report and behavior which seems abusive or inapproopriate to EFO staff member.

5)   Adult volunteers that transport any equipment or supplies must have a valid driver's license

6)   Adult volunteers are asked for information on all previous church work involving children

7)   Adult volunteers must provide information on all previous non-church work involving children

8)   Volunteers must provide a minimum of two personal references

9)   All volunteers are subject to personal and criminal background checks
